My research interests are visual literacy, teaching-learning materials in pre-primary and primary education, textbook design for early-learners, visual incentives for early-learners, alphabet book, textbook illustration, illustration as a pedagogic element, illustration’s relationship with contextual setting, bioinspiration and biomimicry in early childhood education, conducting educational research with children, among others.
I have also worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, front-end web developer, photographer, and design consultant for more than eleven years. I have been commissioned by a number of national and international agencies to design for amazing projects that involved communicating to mass as well as esoteric audience. Ranging from identity designs, logos, stationery, posters, invitations, brochures, books, t-shirts, to websites, photography assignments, subtitling, and filming — I’ve designed and directed communication materials that are comprehensive, true and humane.
In 2015, as a graphic designer and calligrapher, I designed the Bangla wordmark 'মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর' (Muktijuddho Jadughor) that appear on the façade of the new Liberation War Museum at Agargaon, Dhaka.
Areas and topics like alphabet book, textbook illustration, illustration as a pedagogic element, illustration’s relationship with contextual setting excite my curiosity.
Employing bioinspiration and biomimicry in early childhood education, particularly to ameliorate its many predicaments, is something I've been pondering over for so long.
I've been commissioned as the lead identity designer for a number of international projects by French embassy, German embassy, Swiss embassy, High Commission of Canada, British High Commission, Brazilian embassy, among others.
Since 2010 I've designed 44 issues of ‘Le Fleuve’, a trimonthly cultural publication based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I've also designed exhibition catalogs for a number of international and national artists.
On weekends I volunteer at Shishu Neer Bangladesh, a school for underprivileged children. I also volunteer at Ayre Nachi, a dance school run by my wife.
